Penharget is located on the outskirts of the old mining village of Pensilva which is home to Millenium House, a social centre offering a fitness suite, sports hall and coffee shop.

The market town of Liskeard is a 10 minute drive from Penharget and the quaint fishing villages of Looe and Polperro are only an half hour away. A visit to the internationally renowned Eden Project, situated between Bodmin and St Austell is well worth the journey, less than 1 hour away, as are Heligan Gardens and the National Trust houses of Cotehele and Lanhydrock.

Within easy reach is the City of Plymouth, which provides a large shopping centre, the historic Barbican area, a new cinema and bowling complex and the very popular National Marine Aquarium amongst many other attractions.

Golfers are well catered for in this area with St Mellion International Golf and Country Club being one of the many courses nearby.

Bodmin Moor offers a wide variety of activities including various watersports at nearby Siblyback Lake; Horse riding and Pony trekking across the Moor and of course excellent opportunities for moorland walking. For those interested in our local history the Minions Heritage Centre hosts an excellent and well researched exhibition detailing the mining industry and the local history of Bodmin Moor. Also of interest is the Cheesewring and the Hurlers.

Close to Penharget is the Sterts Open Air Theatre in the village of Upton Cross. This theatre hosts a wide range of productions throughout the year.

There is a wide choice of village pubs, serving excellent food within a short distance of Penharget.
